The dancing can begin even before the New Year’s Eve. Eager beavers – or rather eager bunnies – can drop by the Alex P. Keaton Saturday night for a set from local DJ Patrick The Bunny.
Also known as Patrick Gregory, the 27-year-old is also a web and graphic designer. After earning a degree in history at the University of Western Ontario, Gregory completed his Master’s in library and information sciences. He continues to create web and print materials for local artists and businesses, but at night, you’ll find him behind the decks.
As The Bunny, he can spin pretty much everything. On some nights, he pulls out chilled-out ambient and jazz; on others he unleashes club-ready, bass-heavy bangers and hip hop, and he’ll even lay down some stomping electro and house.
The computer enthusiast makes his mixes available as streaming podcasts on his website, HYPERLINK “http://www.patrickthebunny.com” www.patrickthebunny.com. As lovely as it is to hear his mixes through your headphones, it’s better to check out the The Bunny’s beats on the dance floor.
Along with resident mixmaster DJ Bnutz, Gregory’s periodic sets at the Keaton are essential to the venue’s electronic and dance program. The party starts at 9:30 and there is no cover.
I would like to thank the Jack Richardson Music Awards in London, Ontario… for awarding me Best Club DJ of 2009. I would also like to thank Jonathan Coe, Brian Wong (aka Gingy) for making 2008-2009 a great year for parties in London.
